Our Story

My name is Alyssa and I am a 25 year old single momma, and business owner of Snowstorm Sweets. I service Denver and the greater metro area. I provide Custom Cakes & Sugar Cookies for weddings and events as far out as Evergreen, Breckenridge, Boulder, Estes Park, CO and more!

When the COVID-19 Pandemic hit, I found myself stuck inside and struggling to find my path in life, while also falling unexpectedly pregnant at 20 year’s old.

I embraced this new chapter in my life and began brainstorming ways I was going to become the best version of myself for my son and how I was going to support my family.

My pregnancy cravings were completely off the charts and, sorry Safeway, but your bakery’s chocolate cake was NOT cutting it. I fell in love with baking, purely for the pleasure of fulfilling my pregnancy cravings. I soon came to find out that I had a hidden talent: cake decorating!

Little did I know, posting a photo of the first cake I ever made on my personal Facebook page would lead to dozens of custom cake orders!

I hit the ground running with my business in 2021, just three short months after my son Storm’s birth.

Here we are three years down the line and I now bake for weddings, corporate events and all occasions both large and small!

Snowstorm Sweets is family owned and operated and just like I built this business from nothing, I make every treat from scratch as well.

Snowstorm Sweet’s takes pride in creating amazing delicacies that aren’t packed full of preservatives, fillers, or processed ingredients.

Building meaningful relationships with my clientele is deeply important to me. During our consultation, we will discuss your vision for your next even and how you’d like me to display your personality and event theme through the desserts I create for you. We will find a way to merge your goals with my creativity as we discuss serving size, design and flavors to create a beautiful and tasty treat for all to eat!

Get to know me!

My name is Alyssa and I grew up in Evergreen, CO. I was born to two teen parents and as a newborn baby was adopted by my parents Nancy and Ira. My parents raised me to be a strong, independent and driven woman.

My life experience and upbringing created my passion for reproductive health, women’s rights and patient advocacy. With that being my main focus, I have switched as of October 2024 to a full time position as a Birth Doula as well as working in a reproductive clinic. My baking hours have changed to part time, so place your orders as far in advance as possible to ensure I squeeze you in!

I love BodyPump, long walks, a good book and Boba! I also love making YouTube content and the part-time Podcast I have with one of my best child-hood friends. Creative outlets keep me going!

Small Town Girl to Small Business Owner

The chocolate cake in my teeth in that photo speaks volumes to how big of a sweet tooth I have always had! I grew up baking with my mom, but lost the love for it over the years and didn’t discover my passion for it again until my pregnancy in 2020/2021.

At the age of 21, during a global pandemic, with a newborn baby in hand, I told my parents I was going to start my own baking business. I was worried they would think I was crazy! But my mom Nancy wasn’t shocked in the slightest, in fact, she said it was “about damn time!”

My family had watched all my “businesses” from my childhood grow. Whether it be my day spa I opened for the neighbors in the 5th grade, or the screenplay of Titanic I wrote when I was 9, my family has always cheered on my creativity and encouraged me to set my dreams sky high!

  • Snowstorm Sweets does not currently have a storefront location. I do offer both pick-up and delivery options upon placing your order!
